Chichén Itzá is an ancient Mayan city, which rose to power between 800 and 1000 A.D. Chichén Itzá is by far the most extensively restored and visited Mayan site in Yucatan. You will board air conditioned transportation and drive approx 2 1⁄2 hours to Chichén Itzá. During the journey your guide will provide information about the Yucatan peninsula and the Mayan culture Upon your arrival at Chichén Itzá you will be given a guided tour of the site, learning about the ancient Mayan civilizations, explore El Castillo, the ball court, the temple of the warriors, El Caracol and more amazing buildings. Walk along the Sac-be (white road) to the sacred cenote, previously thought to be a portal to the “other world”.
Enjoy a typical Mexican buffet lunch at a local restaurant while a folk dance show is entertaining the audience. After lunch we will continue to visit an amazing cenote “Hubiku” where we will have time to refresh and swim in the natural underground river. Our return will take us through a colonial village Valladolid. 30 mins. stop for sightseeing before returning back to our hotel.
